If You Want to Easily Get from
Downtown to the Strip District or the South Side,
Hop a Bus..
The Port Authority has two bus schedules
that consolidate in one schedule all the bus routes
that go from downtown Pittsburgh to their particular
neighborhood. Buses to the Strip District can be boarded
at Liberty Avenue opposite 9th Street, at Smithfield
Street or at William Penn Place and have a travel
time to the Strip District of approximately 5 minutes.
Buses to Downtown can be boarded on Penn Avenue at
19th, 17th, 16th, 15th, 14th, 13th, and 12th Streets.
The bus routes serving the Strip from Downtown are
6B Spring Hill, 86A East Hills, 86B Frankstown, 91A
Butler Street and 91S Sharps Hill. Buses on routes
86A East Hills, 86B Frankstown, 91A Butler Street,
and 91S Sharps Hill also return Downtown Pittsburgh
from the Penn Avenue locations listed above.

The bus routes serving
South Side from downtown Pittsburgh are the 51A Arlington
Heights, 51C Carrick, 51B Spencer, 51D Churchview,
and 51G Mt. Oliver. Service operates until midnight,
seven days a week from Wood Street, Smithfield Street,
or Fourth Avenue. Returning buses leave from East
Carson Street.
